Cameronbridge 12 years 2012 - 2025 100 Proof Edition #1
Cameronbridge, Scotland’s oldest grain distillery, is known for its smooth and approachable whiskies. This 12-year-old expression, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2025, has been fully matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. The 100 Proof Edition (57.1% ABV) gives this single grain whisky extra depth and intensity while preserving its elegant and creamy character. Non-chill filtered and with no added color, allowing the natural flavors to shine.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Sweet vanilla and creamy caramel immediately stand out, followed by fresh notes of coconut, peach, and light citrus peel. A subtle hint of oak and marzipan completes the profile.
Palate
Soft and silky with rich flavors of butterscotch, honey, and vanilla custard. The bourbon cask adds a touch of toasted almonds and coconut, with a light spiciness of white pepper and cinnamon.
Finish
Medium-long and warming, with a lingering sweetness of vanilla, delicate wood tones, and a hint of tropical fruit. The whisky remains smooth and refined until the very end.
Cameronbridge Distillery
Cameronbridge Distillery, founded in 1824 by John Haig, is one of the oldest grain distilleries in Scotland and is located in Windygates, Fife. What began as one of the pioneers in grain distillation grew into an influential player in the whisky world, partly due to the invention of the continuous still by Robert Stein, a Haig relative. This distilling technique allowed for more efficient production of grain whisky, quickly making Cameronbridge popular and playing a fundamental role in the rise of blended whisky.
Its location in Fife, near abundant water sources and grain suppliers, made Cameronbridge ideal for large-scale whisky production. Today, the distillery is owned by Diageo and produces grain whiskies for well-known blends such as Johnnie Walker and Haig Club, as well as for independent bottlers.
Cameronbridge is known for its smooth, mellow grain whiskies with characteristic notes of vanilla, toffee and a subtle spiciness, thanks to long maturation in carefully selected oak casks.
