Tasting note

Nose

Vanilla, fine cedar, hint of anise with pretty floral notes. Subtle white pepper and honey aromas. We can clearly smell that it has been an active cask. In a relatively short time, this cask has added many aromas to this single malt.

Taste

The first onset is wonderfully soft and builds quietly to full-bodied and spicy. The wood aromas are strongly present but do not dominate and provide a powerful base. Plum jam, pure chcolate, tannins. The flavour is also creamy like vanilla pudding.

Finish

Surprisingly long and powerful. Dark chocolate, cedar and a hint of anise here too.

Overall impression

They selected the right cask. Young, but extremely interesting and actually already finished. Great class.
