Tasting note

Nose

This will make us happy! Sherry and peat is a golden combination. The scent of cherry chocolates flies into our nose, don't sniff too hard as the alcohol is evident. Mildly sweet smoke with distinct bitter notes. In a word; mmmmmmmm

Taste

The peat is immediately noticeable, so is the firm alcohol content, but once the mouth gets used to it, more flavours follow. Of that tasty bitter chocolate with cherries on brandy. Sherry is definitely present, but not at all overpowering. We dare call this powerhouse quite balanced.

Finish

Naturally, the smoky character lingers longest on the palate. This is why we love Islay whiskies so much.

Overall impression

Surely the 100 Proof Edition series is an impressive one for its price!
