Tasting note

Nose

Unmistakably Caol Ila, but with just a little something extra. Obviously peat, smokiness, campfire, fried fish, dried fish and that real Islay iodine hint. Plus bitter chocolate and something of coconut. This almost has to come from the casks. Besides Oloroso Sherry, Bourbon casks were used for this. 

Taste

Full, spicy, firm as if you are standing in Port Ellen harbour and fresh fish is just coming ashore. On the quay, the BBQ is already on and the boat is just giving an extra dot of gas. You know what I mean, delicious maritime flavours that suit a whisky like this.

Finish

Actually very subdued. Relatively quiet and not aggressive at all. Just delicious ;-)
