Tasting note

Nose

Spicy and fruity and so wonderfully mild. Brown caster sugar, banana and that soft filling found in chocolates. This distillery knows what Lowland style is, because this is elegant, refined and a feast for the olfactory palate. 

Taste

This is the Summer release and that's what we think of when we take a sip. Sweet fruit orchard, apple pie with cinnamon. Ginger as in ginger beer and some mild honey aromas complete the party. 

Finish

Long and tasty. The soft fruit remains delicious on the palate.

Distilled in the summer of 2011, this Single Malt comes from a selection of 27 First Fill Bourbon casks from Clermont Springs Distillery in Kentucky. The casks were eventually allowed to mature for over 12 years in the warehouses of Daftmill Farm. This Single Malt is made from the Publican barley variety, which was harvested on 28 and 29 August 2009 that was then malted in Alloa and summer 2010.

Daftmill Distillery

Daftmill has been operating as a full-fledged farm distillery since 2005 and is owned and managed by the Cuthbert family. The distillery only operates during the quieter farm seasons, mid-summer and winter, meaning that production is sometimes limited to 100 barrels a year.
