Founded in 1897, Caperdonich closed in 2002 and was demolished in 2010 with the stills heading to a whisky distillery in Belgium.
The distillery was only in production for 5 years when it opened before re-opening in 1965 as a new distillery.
Tasting note
Nose: Big sherry, muscovado sugar, some treacle notes and stewed apples.
Palate: Soft spice, then juicy red fruits, blackcurrants and cherries. Some, creamier notes emerge along with some smoked meats.
Finish: Long and chewy. Very mouth coating sherry. Almost salty with more black cherries coming through.
