Glenfiddich Project XX - Experimental Series 02

The founding of The Glenfiddich distillery took place in 1828 in the town of Dufftown, also known as the whisky capital of Scotland. The Single Malt Whisky from this fine distillery is among the best-selling Malt Whisky in the world. 

Origin and bottling

For this special edition, twenty Glenfiddich brand ambassadors worldwide were asked to select a cask from Glenfiddich's warehouses. Brian Kinsman, the malt master, carried out one of the most exciting experiments in Glenfiddich's 130-year history with these flavours in mind.  

Cask type

A cask type or age was not disclosed as the 20 different casks selected were largely different. The ages were also all different, so hence the choice of no-age statement.

Colour

Golden yellow

Nose

Classic fruitiness with hints of apple blossom and thick pear. A perfect balance of rich vanilla oak with golden sugar and a hint of liquorice.

Taste

Deep and mellow, the candyfloss sweetness is complemented by unusual notes of toasted almonds and cinnamon and a hint of crisp tannin.

Overall impression

The finish completes this Glenfiddich. The higher alcohol content also gives character to this friendly Malt Whisky. Every sip is and remains exciting.
