Whiskies bottled from the new 'Private Collection' have been personally selected by members of the Urquhart family that has owned Gordon & MacPhail for four generations. Each is a unique and exquisite chapter in Scotland's history of whisky.
"When a whisky from our Private Collection leaves it's spiritual home in Elgin, it's like saying farewell to a family friend."
Stephen Rankin, Director of Prestige - Member of the Fourth Generation of the Urquhart family
Tasting Notes by Gordon & MacPhail:
Colour: Dark gold.
Aroma: Initially, rich aromas of dark honey and vanilla pod. An undertone of poached pear develops and combines with a hint of citrus zest. Sweet notes of marzipan persevere throughout alongside cinnamon spice.
Taste: Gentle flavours of molasses initially, with an undertone of tart lemon zest giving way to mature charred oak. A hint of coriander forms, with sweet red apple leading to malted cereals towards the end.
Finish: Satisfying and intense dried oak finish, with evolving dried tobacco flavours; long and full bodied.
