Glen Scotia 9 years Unpeated Fino Sherry Cask Finish
As usual, Glen Scotia makes it a celebratory event at the annual Campbeltown Malts Festival. This year, whiskies hailing from Campbeltown will be celebrated grandly on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May. A true tradition to which a beautiful bottling should not be missing. So Glen Scotia - in honour of the Campbeltown Festival - is coming out with a high-quality 9-year-old whisky finished in Fino sherry casks.
Campbeltown Malts Festival
Since 2008, the town of Campbeltown - one of Scotland's recognised whisky regions - has hosted the annual Campbeltown Malts Festival. During the event, Campbeltown distilleries such as Glen Scotia open their doors to the global public. While enjoying music, delicious food and fantastic whiskies, everything to do with the history and future of whisky is celebrated extensively. The event will take place on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May.
Since not everyone has the opportunity to attend the festival in person, Glen Scotia is coming up with this special festival edition whisky.
This limited Festival bottling is a charming and bold dram, highly suitable for enjoying in company. The whisky is unpeated, matured for 9 years, most of which in first-fill Bourbon casks, and finished for at least 6 months in beautiful Fino sherry casks. Result? A fresh and floral whisky with the maritime saltiness of Glen Scotia and the distinctive dryness of Fino sherry. Bottled at 56.2% cask strength, with natural colour and no fill-filtration.
The Sound of Glen Scotia
Music and Glen Scotia go hand in hand. That is why musicians Neil Ridley, Jenny Sturgeon and Dean Honer have teamed up with Glen Scotia for the Campbeltown festival to create a unique composition that captures the sound and essence of the distillery. Each bottle of the Glen Scotia festival edition features a QR code that allows people to experience this harmonious composition for themselves. A special meeting between whisky and music!

Glen Scotia Distillery
Glen Scotia Distillery is located in Campbeltown, on Scotland's Kintyre Peninsula, a region with a rich whisky history. Founded in 1832, Glen Scotia is one of the few remaining distilleries in this once thriving whisky region. The distillery has gone through several ownership changes and periods of closure, but remains an important name in the Scotch whisky world.
A specific feature of Glen Scotia is its combination of traditional and modern production methods. The distillery produces a wide range of whiskies, from light and elegant to rich and smoky. Glen Scotia is known for its complex flavour profiles, often characterised by maritime influences such as saltiness, combined with notes of fruit, vanilla and spices.
The whiskies are matured in various cask types, including bourbon and sherry casks, which contributes to the depth and complexity of the flavours. Glen Scotia's unique location and rich history make it a fascinating distillery, continuing the tradition and innovation of Campbeltown whiskies.
