Glenmorangie 12 years The Lasanta

The Lasanta 12 Years is Glenmorangie’s signature sherry-cask expression, and a cornerstone of the distillery’s core range. After an initial maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, it is finished for two years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The result is a rich and silky single malt, full of warmth and character – as the Gaelic name ‘Lasanta’ suggests.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Soft raisins, caramelized orange, milk chocolate, and a touch of cinnamon. Gentle floral notes and subtle hints of honey and walnut give it elegance and charm.

Palate

Rounded and creamy with flavors of dried fruits, toffee, orange zest, and gentle spices like nutmeg. The sherry cask influence adds depth without overwhelming the distillery’s delicate style.

Finish

Medium in length and warmly spiced, with notes of almond, cocoa, and oaky spice. Well-balanced and approachable, with a lingering touch of sweetness.

Glenmorangie Distillery

Glenmorangie Distillery is located in Tain, Ross-shire, on the east coast of the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 1843 by William Matheson, Glenmorangie has a long and rich history in whisky production. The distillery is located near the Dornoch Firth, which provides a unique source of pure water, essential to the production process.

A specific feature of Glenmorangie is the use of the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland, which are over five metres high. These stills produce an exceptionally pure and delicate spirit.
