Tullibardine 2008 - 2024 The Murray - Marquess Collection
The Marquess Collection was launched in 2016. It is a nod to famous historical figures who held the title Marquess of Tullibardine for centuries in Scotland and a tribute to the rich history of the Tullibardine region.
Tasting note
Colour
The colour of this whisky is a rich, deep amber with a hint of ruby hue, clearly reflecting the influence of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine casks.
Nose
On the nose, a complex bouquet of dried red fruits such as cherries and plums unfolds, followed by notes of vanilla and honey. Subtle hints of spicy oak and a hint of leather add depth and character to the whisky. After some time in the glass, aromas of dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco emerge.
Taste
On the tongue, this Tullibardine is full and luscious. The sweet notes of berry jam and sultanas balance nicely with the spicy influences of cinnamon and nutmeg. The influence of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape barrels is evident, with a wonderful integration of fruity and earthy flavours. A slight hint of oak and a touch of liquorice give the whisky a nice complexity and depth.
Finish
The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruit, soft spices and a slight hint of chocolate. The tannins from the wine casks provide a fine dry touch at the end, giving the whisky an elegant and refined finish.
Tullibardine Distillery
Tullibardine Distillery is located in the picturesque town of Blackford, at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Perthshire, Scotland. Founded in 1949 by William Delmé-Evans, the distillery is on the site of a former 12th-century brewery. These historical roots give Tullibardine a rich tradition in both beer and whisky production.
A unique feature of Tullibardine is the use of pure water from the Danny Burn, which contributes to the clarity and freshness of their whiskies. Tullibardine is known for its smooth, creamy and fruity whiskies with notes of vanilla, apple, pear and subtle spices. The whiskies are matured in a variety of cask types, including ex-bourbon, sherry and wine casks, making for a rich and complex taste experience.
Tullibardine offers a wide range of single malts, from standard bottlings to special editions. The combination of a historic location, craftsmanship and high-quality whiskies makes Tullibardine a respected name in the world of Scotch single malt whisky.
