Tullibardine, located at the edge of the Highlands, is known for its approachable style and affinity for sherry cask maturation. This 9-year-old bottling from 2015, released in 2025 as part of the 100 Proof Edition, was matured in a combination of first and second fill Oloroso sherry butts. The result is a refined and layered whisky where rich sherry notes meet the fresh, fruity character of the distillery. Bottled at 57.1% ABV, it delivers power with finesse.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rounded and inviting with aromas of dried fruits, toffee and orange peel. Subtle hints of nuts, red apple and gentle spice develop in the background.

Palate

Soft yet expressive with flavours of raisins, milk chocolate and burnt sugar. Spicy touches of cinnamon and nutmeg are supported by roasted wood and marzipan. Creamy and elegant on the palate.

Finish

Medium length with lingering sherry sweetness, gentle spice and a warm note of hazelnut and oak.

Tullibardine Distillery

Tullibardine Distillery is located in the picturesque town of Blackford, at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Perthshire, Scotland. Founded in 1949 by William Delmé-Evans, the distillery is on the site of a former 12th-century brewery. These historical roots give Tullibardine a rich tradition in both beer and whisky production.

A unique feature of Tullibardine is the use of pure water from the Danny Burn, which contributes to the clarity and freshness of their whiskies. Tullibardine is known for its smooth, creamy and fruity whiskies with notes of vanilla, apple, pear and subtle spices. The whiskies are matured in a variety of cask types, including ex-bourbon, sherry and wine casks, making for a rich and complex taste experience.

Tullibardine offers a wide range of single malts, from standard bottlings to special editions. The combination of a historic location, craftsmanship and high-quality whiskies makes Tullibardine a respected name in the world of Scotch single malt whisky.

Tullibardine Distillery stands in Blackford in Perthshire, beneath the Ochil Hills. The site has a long brewing history: in 1488, King James IV purchased beer here, one of Scotland’s earliest recorded public beer transactions. The modern distillery emerged after engineer William Delmé-Evans recognised the quality of the local spring water in 1947. He converted the former brewery, and the first spirit flowed from the stills in 1949. Tullibardine was therefore the first new Scotch distillery built since 1900.

Production stopped in 1993 but resumed in 2003 under a group of private investors. In 2011, Tullibardine was acquired by Terroir Distillers, a family-owned French wine and spirits company. Production, maturation and bottling have since been brought together more fully on one site. Tullibardine is distinguished by carrying out almost the entire whisky-making process at the distillery, with malting as the only exception. The site contains ten washbacks, four copper pot stills, its own cooperage, maturation warehouses, a blending facility and a bottling line. This gives the team direct control from distillation to bottle.

Signatory Vintage is one of the most respected and recognised independent bottlers in the whisky world. The company was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and is based in Pitlochry, Scotland. Signatory Vintage is known for its impressive collection of single malt and single grain whiskies sourced from various Scottish distilleries.

In 2002 Andrew Symington acquired Edradour Distillery, one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland. This has enabled Signatory Vintage to offer exclusive bottlings of Edradour whiskies alongside their regular independent bottlings.
