Torabhaig Distillery

Torabhaig Distillery is located on the east coast of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, in the picturesque village of Teangue. Opened in 2017, it is only the second legal distillery on Skye, after Talisker. The distillery is located in a beautifully restored 19th-century farmhouse, adding to its historic charm and connection to local heritage.

A specific feature of Torabhaig Distillery is the use of local spring water and Scottish barley, ensuring an authentic taste experience. The distillery produces medium to heavily peated whiskies, which are characterised by their robust and complex flavour profiles. Torabhaig whiskies have distinct notes of smoke, sea salt and citrus, with a subtle sweetness and spiciness.

The whisky is matured in a mix of American oak bourbon casks and European oak sherry casks, which contributes to the depth and complexity of the flavours. The combination of traditional production methods, a unique location and commitment to quality makes Torabhaig Distillery a promising newcomer to the world of Scotch single malt whisky.
