This 27-year-old single cask release from 1973, bottled in 2000 from cask #1590, is an extraordinary collector’s item. With only a handful of bottles ever released, it offers a rare glimpse into a distillery lost to history.

Ladyburn Distillery
Ladyburn Distillery was located in Girvan, on the south-west coast of Scotland, in the Ayrshire region. Founded in 1966 by William Grant & Sons, Ladyburn was a so-called "distillery within a distillery," located within the larger Girvan grain distillery. This made Ladyburn unique in that it operated as a separate malt distillery within a large-scale grain production environment.
Ladyburn's history is short but interesting; the distillery closed as early as 1975, leaving it in operation for only nine years. As a result, Ladyburn whiskies are extremely rare and sought after by collectors.
A specific feature of Ladyburn was the production of single malt whisky using traditional copper pot stills. Ladyburn whiskies were known for their smooth and delicate character, with aromas of citrus, honey and light floral notes. Due to its short operational period and limited production, Ladyburn whiskies are a rare find today, representing a fascinating piece of Scotch whisky history.
