Glendullan 12 years 2011 - 2024 #310542 Glens & Valleys

The Glendullan 12 years 2011 - 2024 #310542 Glens & Valleys is a refined single malt whisky, characterised by fresh apple and citrus notes, creamy vanilla and a subtle hint of spice, harmoniously balanced with light oak influences.

Tasting note

Nose

This Glendullan opens with refreshing aromas of green apples and juicy citrus fruits, such as lemon and orange. Creamy vanilla and a touch of honey add a sweet, inviting layer, while subtle notes of fresh herbs, such as mint and basil, offer delicate complexity.

Taste

On the palate, this whisky is soft and balanced, with lively flavours of ripe apples and bright citrus notes refreshing the palette. Creamy vanilla and butterscotch provide a rich, silky texture. Light spices like white pepper and a hint of cinnamon add depth, and subtle oak influences add a pleasant, woody undertone.

Finish

The finish is long and elegant, with lingering accents of sweet vanilla, fresh apple and a gentle citrus zest. The slight spiciness and subtle oak linger, creating a harmonious and satisfying aftertaste.

Glendullan Distillery

Glendullan Distillery is located on the banks of the River Fiddich in the charming town of Dufftown, in the Speyside region of Scotland. Founded in 1897 by William Williams & Sons, Glendullan is one of seven distilleries in Dufftown, often described as the "whisky capital of the world". The distillery was rebuilt in 1972 to increase production capacity, and since then two separate distilleries have operated on the same site.

A unique feature of Glendullan is the use of water from the Conval Hills, which contributes to the purity and character of their whiskies. Glendullan whiskies are known for their mild and fruity flavour profiles, with notes of apple, pear, vanilla and a subtle hint of spice. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and a slow distillation process, which ensures a balanced and refined spirit.

The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, ensuring a rich and complex taste experience. Glendullan produces mainly for the blended whisky industry but also as a single malt, Glendullan is appreciated worldwide for its consistency and quality. The combination of a historic location, traditional techniques and high-quality production makes Glendullan a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
