Hibiki Japanese Harmony

Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a true symphony in a glass. This blended whisky from the house of Suntory showcases the art of Japanese whisky-making, blending whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita, matured in five different cask types including American oak, sherry casks, and rare Mizunara oak. The elegant bottle with its 24 facets symbolizes the Japanese lunar calendar and reflects the seasonal artistry behind the whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose

A delicate bouquet of white flowers, honey, orange peel, and light oak, with hints of sandalwood and Japanese incense.

Palate

Silky and refined, offering notes of caramel, plum jam, rose petals, and subtle spices. In perfect harmony throughout.

Finish

Long and elegant, with sweet oak, gentle spices, and a lingering floral touch.

Hibiki

Hibiki whisky, one of Suntory's most prestigious brands, was first launched in 1989 in honour of the company's 90th anniversary. Hibiki means "resonance" in Japanese, and the whisky is meant to symbolise the harmony between nature and the people who create it. The brand is known for its exceptional blend of different malts and grain whiskies, sourced from Suntory's three main distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita.

A unique feature of Hibiki whisky is the careful selection and blending of whiskies that are up to 30 years old, resulting in a complex and refined flavour profile. Maturation takes place in a variety of casks, including rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks, which give the whisky its distinctive soft and subtle notes.

Hibiki is known for its perfectly balanced flavour, with notes of honey, dried fruit, flowers and a hint of smoke, complemented by a long, silky finish. The striking, octagonal bottle symbolises the Japanese aesthetic of "wa" (harmony) and is as iconic as the whisky itself. Hibiki is hailed worldwide as a masterpiece of Japanese craftsmanship and refinement.

Suntory

Suntory, one of Japan's oldest and most prestigious whisky producers, was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. He opened Japan's first commercial whisky distillery, Yamazaki, located on the outskirts of Kyoto. This location, with its pure water sources and ideal climate, was carefully chosen for its perfect conditions for whisky production.

Suntory later expanded with the Hakushu Distillery, located in the southern Japanese Alps, known for its fresh and light whiskies, influenced by the region's mountainous climate and pure spring water. Suntory's whiskies, such as the Yamazaki and Hakushu single malts, also as the iconic Hibiki blend are known worldwide for their refined and complex flavour profiles.

Suntory whiskies are characterised by an exceptional balance of flavours, often with notes of fruit, flowers, and subtle spices, combined with the influence of Japanese Mizunara oak casks that add a unique character. Suntory's commitment to craftsmanship and innovation has placed the company at the forefront of the global whisky industry, and their products are considered masterpieces of Japanese distilling art.
