Smögen 10 years 2013 - 2023 #58 for Adelphi's 30th Anniversary

For their 30th anniversary, Adelphi selected a bold Swedish single malt: a 10-year-old Smögen. Known for its punchy, coastal and smoky style, Smögen is a distillery that doesn’t hold back – and Adelphi knew exactly how to highlight that strength. Cask 58 yielded only a limited number of bottles, but every drop is packed with character. This is not a shy dram, but one that speaks loud and clear, showcasing what happens when Swedish craft meets Scottish bottling excellence.

Tasting Notes

Nose

A waft of salty smoke leads the way, followed by charcoal, iodine and baked apples. Roasted nuts and a touch of burnt sugar follow.

Palate

Bold and intense, with waves of peat smoke, barbecue spice, cracked black pepper and zesty lemon peel. Underneath, hints of vanilla and toasted oak emerge.

Finish

Long and warming, with lingering dry smoke, sea spray and a twist of orange peel.

Smögen Distillery

Adelphi Distillery Limited is an independent bottler of mainly Scotch Single Malt whiskies, known for its high quality and limited editions. Besides Scotch whisky, they sometimes make forays into other whisky countries, but rum and armagnac can also be found in Adelphi Distillery Limited's portfolio. The company has a rich history dating back to the 19th century and is today a respected name in the whisky world.

History and Origins

• Establishment: The original Adelphi Distillery was founded in 1826 in the Gorbals, a district in Glasgow, Scotland. The distillery produced a wide range of whiskies, both single malts and grain whiskies.
