Van Kleef Cinnamon Liqueur 50cl

Coarsely broken cinnamon pipes soak in alcohol for over 6 months.

This cinnamon extract is only mixed with a few ingredients and sugar.

Delicious in or alongside coffee. In the kitchen, the liqueur is also excellent for use in preparing desserts, etc.

A long, long time ago, when the streets were still shrouded in the thick fumes of increasingly advancing industrialisation, a factory of jenevers, bitter extracts and liqueurs flourished in the old centre of The Hague. Van Kleef steam distillery 1st class, founded by Lamberthus Theodorus Van Kleef, was located on Lange Beestenmarkt, in the old centre of The Hague. A wide variety of drinks were distilled there, which were sold in the adjacent off-licence.

From 1842 to 1986, all drinks were produced at Van Kleef Distillery. Until 1986, the year when Van Kleef was the last distillery in The Hague to close its doors. It was decided to completely demolish the distillery, located adjacent to the original 19th century shop area.

This was due to the fire hazard posed by alcohol production in the old city centre of The Hague. 

The space that now forms the museum garden used to be the distillery. Underneath the newly built bottling plant in the garden are eight more alcohol cellars, which together can hold over 37,000 litres of alcohol...
