Tasting Notes
Nose
Rich aromas of toasted oak, dark chocolate, and vanilla, with subtle hints of clove and roasted nuts.
Palate
Full-bodied and layered with caramel, espresso beans, and dark toffee. The charred cask influence brings a smoky undertone, supported by cinnamon and dried fruit.
Finish
Long and warming with elegant notes of wood spice, molasses, and a touch of black pepper.
Serving Tip
Best enjoyed neat or in an Old Fashioned with a twist – use an orange peel and a few drops of chocolate bitters.
Takamaka Rum
Takamaka Rum is a premium rum from Seychelles, produced by the Trois Frères Distillery, located on the idyllic island of Mahé. Founded in 2002 by brothers Richard and Bernard d'Offay, Takamaka is named after a popular bay on the island and the brand has quickly gained a global reputation for its unique flavour and quality.
The distillery is set amidst the lush tropical surroundings of Seychelles, where the sugar cane is locally grown and carefully processed. A special feature of Takamaka Rum is the combination of traditional Creole distillation techniques and modern production processes. The rum is made from both local sugarcane and imported molasses, creating a rich and layered flavour.
Takamaka Rum is known for its tropical and fruity notes, complemented by hints of vanilla, caramel and spices. The rums are aged in French and American oak barrels, which ensures a smooth and refined taste. The range varies from white and dark rums to special matured expressions, which perfectly capture the vibrant spirit of Seychelles. Takamaka is not only a symbol of Creole culture, but also an internationally loved rum that stands for quality and authenticity.
