Caol Ila 9 years 2011 - 2020 Daily Dram 'Classics with a Twist'

Bresser & Timmer, the company behind Daily Dram, has launched a beautiful series entitled 'Classics with a Twist'. This is one for lovers of peaty whiskies. Caol Ila is always good, but some are just a little bit better. This one belongs in the latter category.

Tasting note

Nose

Smoked grapefruit and custard pudding. Oily and spicy. Full-bodied smoke aroma with harbour notes of wet rope and diesel fumes.

Taste

Yes, this is Caol Ila we love. Youthful and powerful. Peat and smoke dance across the tongue and provide a wake-up call. Licorice and spices. Fleshy and present.

Finish

Whereas the aroma was a bit 'dirty' the finish is actually very nice and clean. And nice and long.
