Tasting note
Nose
How do you describe a smell that you really only smell on old Speyside whiskies? Musty, but lively. Spicy, but perfectly balanced. Firm, but buttery smooth. A scent that is completely polished. Floral, fruity, spicy, bitters, even a fresh acidity. This is what you want to smell when you have a glass of 42-year-old Longmorn in front of you.
Taste
Raisins with chocolate, but that bitter chocolate. Eucalyptus and even some menthol. Every sip you are treated to mild and mature flavors. Clear sherry notes take over as we take a second sip. This is simply enjoyment.
Finish
We check the label and really only see 43%, but the aftertaste suggests otherwise. Lovely long finish with the mild bitter notes of the sherry cask.
