Strathisla 1960 - 2014 #2539, 2555 & 2581

Michael Urquhart: on the instructions of my father, casks 2539, 2555 and 2581 were filled with 'new-make' spirit distilled at Strathisla Distillery on 19th November and 22nd November 1960. They were left to quietly mature at the distillery for many years before being transferred to Gordon & MacPhail's bonded warehouses in Elgin in 1981 and 1975.

There the casks lay until the decision was finally taken to bottle this Speyside Single Malt Whisky on 12th June 2014.

Tasting note

This expression of Strathisla has rich Sherry aromas laced with spices and treacle notes. The palate delivers a silky, sweet Sherry influenced dram - Christmas pudding, mulled fruits and charred oak combine.
