Arran Distillery

Arran Distillery is located in Lochranza, on the picturesque island of Arran on the west coast of Scotland. Founded in 1995 by Harold Currie, a former director of Chivas Brothers, the distillery was the first legal distillery on the island in over 150 years.

A specific feature of Arran Distillery is the purity of its whisky, thanks to the use of water from the nearby Loch na Davie, one of the purest water sources in Scotland. The distillery produces a wide range of single malt whiskies, known for their fruity and creamy character, with notes of apple, pear and vanilla.

Arran uses traditional production methods, including copper pot stills and a slow distillation process, which contributes to the quality and complexity of the whisky. In addition, the whiskies are matured in various cask types, such as bourbon, sherry and wine casks, creating rich and varied flavour profiles. The distillery has built a reputation for craftsmanship and innovation, and remains a favourite destination for whisky lovers worldwide.
