Tasting note

Nose

Rich aromas of dried fruits, sultanas and figs jump to the fore, with a subtle hint of orange peel and dark chocolate. There is also a hint of oak and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, from the long ageing in the sherry cask.

Taste

Full and powerful on the palate, with deep notes of caramel, toffee and toasted nuts. The influence of the sherry cask comes through strongly, with flavours of plums, dates and a hint of espresso. There is a pleasant balance between sweetness and spiciness, with a slight peppery bite

Finish

Long and warming, with lingering notes of dark fruit, sherry, and a hint of bitter chocolate. The finish also has a nice woody dryness that makes for a refined and elegant ending.
