Glenfiddich Fire & Cane
Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a unique single malt whisky from the Speyside region, and part of the distillery's Experimental Series. This expression combines the best of both worlds: peated whisky and the sweet influences of rum casks. After an initial maturation in bourbon casks, the whisky is additionally aged in Latin American rum casks, creating a rich, smoky whisky with a surprisingly sweet twist.
Tasting note
Nose
On the nose, Glenfiddich Fire & Cane offers an engaging blend of peat smoke and caramel, with hints of ripe pear, apple and a hint of spice.
Taste
On the palate, you taste a full, smooth texture, with flavours of toasted marshmallows, toffee, and juicy tropical fruits like pineapple and banana. The smoke is subtle and balanced with the sweetness of the rum barrels, creating a unique flavour experience.
Finish
The finish is medium-long and warming, with lingering notes of sweet caramel, soft smoke and a hint of oak. Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a bold and surprising whisky that will appeal to both peat and sweetness lovers.
Glenfiddich Distillery
Glenfiddich Distillery is located in Dufftown, in Scotland's iconic Speyside region. Founded in 1887 by William Grant, Glenfiddich is one of the few distilleries that has remained in family ownership since its inception. The distillery is located on the banks of the River Fiddich, whose name means "Valley of the Deer", symbolising its rich natural environment.
A unique feature of Glenfiddich is the use of spring water from the Robbie Dhu springs, which contributes to the purity and character of their whiskies. Glenfiddich is known for its innovative approach and was one of the first distilleries to export their single malt whisky worldwide.
Glenfiddich whiskies are known for their elegant and accessible flavour profiles, with notes of pear, apple and honey. The whiskies are matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, creating a rich and complex flavour. The combination of a beautiful location, innovative techniques and high-quality production makes Glenfiddich a global leader in the single malt whisky industry.
