Tasting note
Nose
Unknown makes unloved, while this is a whisky that will appeal to a very large audience. The aroma alone is to be savoured for minutes. Fruity, floral, elegant and classic Speyside. Mild wood aromas unify it.
Taste
Everybody's friend, mild and refined, but with enough character to surprise even the whisky connoisseur.
Finish
The finish is particularly appetising, gently sweet and the maturation of at least 12 years has added a nice barrel character.
Knockando Distillery
Knockando Distillery is located in the heart of the Speyside region, on the banks of the River Spey in the village of Knockando, Moray. Founded in 1898 by John Thomson, the distillery has a rich history and is known for producing elegant and refined single malt whiskies. The name "Knockando" comes from the Gaelic "Cnoc an Dhu," meaning "little black hill".
A unique feature of Knockando is the use of water from the Cardnach springs, which contribute to the purity and delicate character of their whiskies. Knockando whiskies are known for their light, fruity and floral flavour profiles, with notes of almond, apple, pear and a hint of vanilla. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, ensuring a balanced and complex flavour.
The combination of a beautiful location, traditional methods and high-quality production makes Knockando a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
