Longmorn 11 years 2008 - 2020 Single Cask for the Longmorn Brothers

Some whiskies capture not just the character of their distillery, but also the spirit of those who select them. This 11-year-old Longmorn from 2008, bottled at cask strength by Boogieman Import, was handpicked for the Longmorn Brothers – Govert van Bodegom and Hans Dillesse. It’s vibrant, fruity, and full of charm – a dram that reflects passion, personality, and plenty of good taste.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright and playful from the start. Fresh-cut green apples, ripe mirabelles, and quince take the lead, supported by notes of fresh almonds, parsley, and a touch of damp earth. With water, fresh rhubarb and small windfall apples rise to the surface.

Palate

Zesty and clean. Apples, lime, and white peach meet a light peppery kick and herbal freshness. Add a splash of water and you’ll unleash a whirlwind of fruity candies—especially lemon drops bursting with citrus brightness.

Finish

Long, fresh, and gently herbal. Apple peel, soft honey, and green herb notes linger gracefully. The kind of finish that keeps you smiling.

Longmorn Distillery

Longmorn Distillery is located in the Speyside region, south of Elgin in Moray. Founded in 1894 by John Duff, Longmorn has a rich history and is known for its consistent production of high-quality whiskies. The distillery is located in a picturesque part of Speyside.

A unique feature of Longmorn is the use of traditional copper pot stills, which contribute to the rich and full flavour profiles of their whiskies. The distillery draws its water from the nearby Bardon Burn, which provides a pure and clear base for their whisky. Longmorn whiskies are known for their fruity and spicy flavour profiles, with notes of apple, pear, honey and a hint of spiciness.

The whiskies are mainly matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which ensures a balanced and complex flavour. Longmorn produces single malts as well as whiskies used in blends, such as Chivas Regal. The combination of an idyllic location, traditional techniques and high-quality production makes Longmorn a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.

Boogieman Import

Boogieman Import is an independent bottler from the Netherlands, founded by Stefan van der Boog and Michel Doove. The company has quickly established itself as a notable name in the world of independent bottlers, thanks to their careful selection of whiskies and rums, and their bold approach to branding and marketing.

Philosophy

Boogieman Imports is known for its strict selection process, bottling only the best and most unique casks. These can be whiskies from well-known distilleries, but also from lesser-known producers who deliver surprising and unusual products.

Boogieman Import's bottlings are often available in very limited editions, which makes them attractive to collectors and enthusiasts looking for something special. Limited availability and high quality make the bottlings highly sought-after.
