Tasting note

Nose

There is also a subtle hint of toasted hazelnuts, fresh leather and a hint of orange peel. As the whisky breathes, a deep spiciness emerges with notes of cinnamon, cloves and a hint of star anise.

Taste

Full and rich on the palate, with a velvety texture that fills the mouth. The first flavours are those of dark caramel and butterscotch, followed by notes of roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate. The barrel influence is evident, with warm notes of oak, tobacco and a hint of balsamic. Dried plums and figs emerge, along with an underlying sweetness of honey and marzipan, which is nicely balanced with the wood spices and a slight bitterness of dark chocolate.

Finish

The finish is long, warm and intense, with a recurring hint of sultanas, candied orange and nutmeg. The spiciness lingers, with a pleasantly dry, woody note that balances nicely with the rest of the sweet and fruity notes. The high alcohol content provides a gentle warmth that makes the taste experience last even longer.
