Nose

Full and creamy with robust caramel, vanilla and buttery sweetness. Cinnamon, pepper and spiced oak are complemented by passion fruit, citrus and a light note of milk chocolate.

Long and warming with caramel, cream and lingering bourbon spices. Vanilla, citrus, pepper and mature oak remain powerful yet beautifully balanced.

Kentucky Owl is a historic American whiskey brand whose origins date back to 1879. That year, pharmacist Charles Mortimer Dedman began producing his ‘Wise Man’s Bourbon’ beside the Kentucky River. The brand disappeared in 1916 after the entire whiskey stock was seized by the authorities. The barrels were stored in a warehouse that burned down under mysterious circumstances shortly afterwards.

Almost a century later, the founder’s great-great-grandson Dixon Dedman revived Kentucky Owl. The first modern batch appeared in 2014, created from carefully selected Kentucky bourbon. Small releases, high bottling strengths and precise cask selection quickly gave the brand cult status among American whiskey enthusiasts. Kentucky Owl was acquired by Stoli Group in 2017.

Kentucky Owl is not an independent distillery, but builds its whiskeys by skilfully blending selected bourbon and rye from Kentucky. The range includes limited batches, barrel-strength bottlings and expressions such as Confiscated and The Wiseman. Rich notes of caramel, dark fruit, spice and firm oak define the brand’s bold and luxurious style.
