Tasting note

Nose

We immediately realise that we are dealing with a Bourbon Whiskey here. The smell of corn with lots of butter meets us. Hints of cinnamon and other spicy scents.

Taste

Hint of charcoal as if you were filling up the BBQ. Toasted nuts, but also nice fruity flavours like stewing apple and apricot. Mild sweetness.

Finish

In the finish the sweetness again but also some cayenne pepper.

A Texas bourbon made for the Texas Legation series from Berry Bros. & Rudd.

This is the second batch in the series, distilled by Ironroot Republic in Denison, Texas.

They make their whisky primarily with grain grown within 60 miles of the distillery and distil all steps on site.
