Bushmills 1975 #184 Millennium Malt Private Cask 

Bushmills is known as one of the oldest and most respected distilleries in Ireland, and this rare 1975 release underlines that reputation. This single malt whisky matured for almost a quarter of a century in carefully selected casks and was bottled in the year 2000 as part of the exclusive Millennium Malt Private Cask series. Please note: All bottlings from cask 184 are exactly the same in terms of content, just with different names on the label. The name on the front label "selected for ....." was coined by the owner of the cask.

Tasting note

Nose

A lush bouquet of tropical fruits such as ripe mango and pineapple immediately emerges, accompanied by scents of dried apricots and honey. Warm notes of vanilla and butterscotch are subtly complemented by hints of old oak, leather and a touch of spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.

Taste

A silky smooth and complex taste experience with layers of dried fruit, rich toffee and creamy vanilla. The influence of the long ageing process shows up beautifully in notes of dark chocolate, toasted almonds and a subtle hint of spice. A gentle touch of orange peel and light floral notes add depth and sophistication to the whisky.

Finish

Long and elegant, with a lingering sweetness of honey and caramel, intertwined with warm spices and a subtle hint of tobacco. The tannins of the oak provide a dry and refined finish, while a hint of sherry influence adds pleasing depth and balance.

Bushmills Distillery
