In the mysterious world of Chichibu whisky, Ichiro Akuto's true mastery comes to life in the unique Single Cask Blended Red Wine Cask concept. For 3.5 years, this single cask blended whisky is matured in prestigious Château Gruaund Larose wine casks before being bottled as official Chichibu whisky. Ichiro's talent, as owner and master blender of Chichibu, is even more evident in this blend of single cask casks. Spirits of Salud is Salud's own exclusive brand and includes
a selection of high-quality spirits brands to be released under the Spirits of Salud name over the coming years with the aim of reaching the new generation of connoisseurs while ensuring a focus on quality and exclusivity.

Quest for perfection

Ichiro's quest for perfection stretches across the borders of Scotland, Ireland, the US and Canada, where he imports carefully selected whisky. This is then blended with Chichibu malt & grain and malt & grain limited, a process that only Ichiro and his team have mastered to perfection. So the base blend of this whisky always contains Chichibu whisky. These blends, which are imported from different countries, are never directly used for the final Chichibu whisky product. In fact, they are first matured for several years in different barrels in the town of Chichibu under Chichibu's most ideal climatic conditions: extreme cold winters and hot summers.

Label design

Ichiro's craftsmanship and dedication are further accentuated by the label design, where traditional Japanese standards meet modern technology. Ichiro personally blended and bottled these single cask casks which meets his standard for Japanese whisky. The label conceived by Salud, developed using AI technology in the design studios of WARBB (known for designing Chichibu 7even Gods of Fortune), reflects the colourful nature, clouds and mountains that change with the seasons. Moreover, it shows an angel teaching herself while reading the pages of life that resonate with the world of Chichibu whisky. This unique design, born from Salud's creative vision, perfectly captures the essence of Chichibu whisky and adds its own artistic touch to the label.

Tasting notes

Straight out of a patisserie! An inviting mix of almond cream, fudge, rather loaded chocolate, candied violets and dried pear emerges on the nose. The slightly sweet entry on the palate lives up to this expectation. Nose and palate show the same malt/chocolate qualities. Hints of red peppercorns and dark chocolate are rounded out by a dry finish. Allspice and a small dose of cinnamon linger, after the creamy chocolate disappears.
