Tasting Notes

Nose

A dominant wave of dried fruits such as figs, raisins, and sultanas. Subtle hints of cinnamon and nutmeg bring warmth, all balanced by a gentle honeyed sweetness.

Palate

Rich and smooth with layers of raisin, baked apple, and vanilla sweetness. Oak spice adds structure, while a slight citrus tang keeps the profile lively.

Finish

Penderyn Distillery

Penderyn Distillery is located in the picturesque village of Penderyn, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. Founded in 2000, Penderyn is the first distillery to produce whisky in Wales in over a century, and has quickly established itself as a pioneer in the modern whisky industry.

A unique feature of Penderyn is the use of a specially designed Faraday still, developed by Dr David Faraday, a descendant of the famous scientist Michael Faraday. This unique still makes for a purer distillate and a lighter, fruitier flavour profile. The whiskies are mainly matured in carefully selected ex-bourbon and madeira casks, ensuring a rich and complex flavour.
