Clos Mogador Com Tu 2019

Clos Mogador is one of the most influential estates in Catalonia, led by René Barbier Jr., the son of a legendary winemaking family. The Montsant wine region, which surrounds Priorat like a protective ring, is rugged, authentic, and increasingly celebrated. The wines from here are full of character: fresh, mineral, and full of Mediterranean strength. Com Tu 2019 is an ode to connection – made from old Garnacha vines with a deep sense of finesse and soul.

Tasting Note

Nose

The nose is refined and expressive, with aromas of cherry, rose petals, and wild herbs. Hints of wet slate, white pepper, and a gentle smokiness follow, adding complexity and charm.

Palate

On the palate, the wine is smooth yet intense. Ripe red fruit, spice, and floral tones are carried by silky tannins and a fresh minerality. There's a beautiful balance between energy, elegance, and depth.

Finish

The finish is long, slightly salty and mineral, with lingering notes of pomegranate, thyme, and a hint of smoke. A wine that expresses both emotion and skilled craftsmanship.

Clos Mogador

Clos Mogador was founded by René Barbier Sr., a pioneer of the modern Priorat movement, and is now led by his son René Jr., who expresses his own signature with Com Tu in Montsant. The vineyards are located at high altitudes on poor, rocky soils, planted with old Garnacha vines that produce low yields but tremendous character. The wine is hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in large oak barrels to preserve the grape’s purity and the expression of terroir. Com Tu, meaning "like you," is a wine that invites connection – made with heart and soul, and meant to be shared.
