Bodegas Roda Sela 2019

The Bodegas Roda Sela 2019 is an elegant and refined Rioja that clearly carries the signature of Roda, presented in a more approachable and youthful style. Designed as an introduction to the estate, this wine shows how modern Rioja can be: pure fruit, fresh tension, and refined oak influence without heaviness. A wine that combines class with easy enjoyment.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright ruby red with a fresh purple hue.

Aroma

Clean and expressive aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and plum, complemented by spice, light toast, cocoa, and a subtle floral nuance.

Taste

Smooth and precise with flavours of red and dark fruit, fine spice, and gentle oak. The tannins are refined and well integrated, while fresh acidity brings balance and elegance.

Finish

Medium-length and refined, with lingering fruit and a soft, spicy finish.

Food Pairing

Very versatile with grilled meats, poultry, tapas, pasta dishes with meat or tomato, mushrooms, and semi-aged cheeses. Also an excellent match for modern Spanish cuisine.

Producer

Bodegas Roda is based in Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta, and is considered one of the leading modern producers in the region. Working exclusively with old-vine Tempranillo, the winery focuses on freshness, precision, and ageing potential. Roda Sela reflects this philosophy in a more accessible form: refined, modern, and unmistakably Roda in style.

Bodegas RODA

Bodegas RODA is a Spanish winery from Haro in the Rioja wine region. It was founded in 1987 with the ambition of developing a new and contemporary interpretation of Rioja, placing considerable importance on the vineyard and the character of each vintage. The winery stands beside the River Ebro in Haro’s historic Railway Station District. Beneath the building lies a nineteenth-century cellar that was once used to store grapes and wine.

RODA works with estate-owned vineyards as well as grapes supplied by local growers under long-term agreements. The parcels are spread across different parts of Rioja and vary considerably in elevation, climate and position. Each year, the winery determines which vineyards are best suited to its different wines. The harvest from every site is monitored and vinified separately, with the final blends decided at a later stage. Traditional ageing in oak, modern technology and extensive research into old vines give Bodegas RODA a distinctive place within Rioja.
