Producer

Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s most respected wine producers, founded in 1859. The estate sources from both owned and carefully selected premier terroirs, crafting wines in a classic, terroir-driven style. The Beaune Clos des Couchereaux Premier Cru is a great example - elegant, balanced, and expressive of its origin.

Louis Jadot

Louis Jadot is one of the best-known wine houses of Burgundy in France. Its story began in 1826 with the purchase of a vineyard in Beaune. In 1859, Louis Henri Denis Jadot established Maison Louis Jadot. From its base in Beaune, the family business developed into an important producer that helped spread the reputation of Burgundy wine far beyond France. Over the generations, the house acquired additional vineyards while also building long-term relationships with growers throughout the region.

Louis Jadot produces wines from almost every important part of Burgundy, ranging from approachable regional wines to refined Premier and Grand Cru bottlings. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay play the leading roles, alongside varieties such as Gamay and Aligoté. The house combines fruit from its own vineyards with carefully selected grapes and wines from local growers. Rather than imposing a heavy house style, it aims to preserve the character of each origin. The red wines generally offer pure fruit, structure and elegance, while the whites combine freshness, depth and a restrained influence of oak. Louis Jadot therefore offers a broad and recognisable introduction to Burgundy.
