Louis Jadot Côte De Nuits-Villages Le Vaucrain 2019

The Louis Jadot Côte de Nuits-Villages Le Vaucrain 2019 is a well-crafted red Burgundy from the heart of the Côte de Nuits. This wine reflects the pure expression of its terroir, with refined fruit aromas, fine structure, and classic Pinot Noir elegance. It’s approachable in its youth yet has the structure to age gracefully over the next several years.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep ruby red with warm purple highlights.

Aroma

Fine and inviting aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and wild berries, complemented by violet, earth, gentle spice, and a subtle hint of vanilla or cedar from gentle oak influence.

Taste

Smooth and elegant with vibrant red fruit and a mineral edge. Red fruit flavours are supported by refined herbal notes and fresh acidity, giving the wine lively balance without heaviness.

Finish

Long, clean, and harmonious with lingering fruit and gentle earthy notes.

Food Pairing

Delicious with lightly roasted meats, poultry, duck, mushroom risotto, or semi-aged cheeses. Also a wonderful companion to charcuterie and bread.

Producer

Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s most respected wine houses, founded in 1859. The estate sources grapes from its own and carefully selected vineyards across Burgundy’s principal appellations. Louis Jadot is known for a classic, terroir-driven style: wines with expressive fruit, solid structure, and understated elegance. The Côte de Nuits-Villages Le Vaucrain embodies this philosophy - a Burgundy with personality, balance, and broad appeal.

Louis Jadot

Louis Jadot is one of the best-known wine houses of Burgundy in France. Its story began in 1826 with the purchase of a vineyard in Beaune. In 1859, Louis Henri Denis Jadot established Maison Louis Jadot. From its base in Beaune, the family business developed into an important producer that helped spread the reputation of Burgundy wine far beyond France. Over the generations, the house acquired additional vineyards while also building long-term relationships with growers throughout the region.

Louis Jadot produces wines from almost every important part of Burgundy, ranging from approachable regional wines to refined Premier and Grand Cru bottlings. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay play the leading roles, alongside varieties such as Gamay and Aligoté. The house combines fruit from its own vineyards with carefully selected grapes and wines from local growers. Rather than imposing a heavy house style, it aims to preserve the character of each origin. The red wines generally offer pure fruit, structure and elegance, while the whites combine freshness, depth and a restrained influence of oak. Louis Jadot therefore offers a broad and recognisable introduction to Burgundy.
