Producer

Lacoste-Borie is a Bordeaux estate in Pauillac that is part of Famille Borie, the same family group behind renowned names like Ducru-Beaucaillou. Lacoste-Borie is known for crafting classic Médoc wines that showcase structure, balance, and terroir expression, representing Pauillac’s elegant and powerful style.

Lacoste-Borie

Lacoste-Borie is the second wine of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, a historic wine estate from Pauillac in Bordeaux, France. The history of the château stretches back several centuries. In the renowned Bordeaux Classification of 1855, Grand-Puy-Lacoste was recognised as a Fifth Growth. The estate has belonged to the Borie family since 1978, a name closely associated with winegrowing in the Médoc for several generations. Under their ownership, the vineyards, winery and technical facilities have been carefully renewed while preserving the classical identity of the château.

The vineyards occupy an elevated, gravel-rich plateau in Pauillac. These well-draining soils are particularly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Lacoste-Borie was introduced in 1982 and is produced from grapes and parcels not selected for the grand vin following a strict selection process. Vinification takes place at the château, with the same attention to origin and precision. The result is a recognisable Pauillac combining fruit, structure and refinement, while generally becoming approachable earlier than Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste.
