Maman Brigitte is a "Blended Rum" (column and pot still) at an alcohol content of 43%, and is composed as follows:
Barbados 8yo
Dominican Republic 5yo
Jamaica 3yo

Barbados rum is the backbone of the blend, holding everything together. It also provides the fruity touch, especially citrus.
The rum from the Dominican Republic gives the spiciness and "body.
The rum from Jamaica gives it the "funkiness," which comes from the high content of esters, which is what makes rums from Jamaica so typical.

Maman Brigitte is primarily a 'sipping rum' to be tasted pure, but also goes very well in cocktails.

Its complexity and low content of added sugar (3g. per liter) make Maman Brigitte an ideal 'everyday rum'.
