Henri Bardouin Pastis

Henri Bardouin Pastis is pastis for people who want more than just anise. Made in Provence, this French pastis is 45% ABV and it drinks rich, herbal, and surprisingly refined. You get the classic anise and liquorice character, but underneath there’s a whole layer of Provençal herbs and spice that gives it real depth. Add cold water and it turns silky and mellow, unlocking loads of aroma and flavour.

Deep amber to copper.

Nose

Anise and liquorice, backed by warm herbs, a lightly floral note, and a small citrus lift.

Palate

Full and herbal with anise up front, followed by layered herbs and spice, think thyme, rosemary, and a touch of pepper, rounded by gentle liquorice sweetness.

Finish

Long and aromatic, herbal and slightly dry, lingering on anise and warm spice.

Tip: serve it the traditional way. Pour a small measure into a glass, then slowly add ice cold water until it turns cloudy. Add ice after the water if you like, it keeps the balance cleaner.

Fun fact: it’s known for its complexity, blended from a large selection of Provençal botanicals, and it’s often seen as one of the most layered pastis styles out there.
