De Monnik Vieux Superieur 100cl

De Monnik Dranken is a Dutch family business from Oldenzaal whose history begins in 1918. Founder Hendrik Olde Monnikhof initially sold beer in and around Oldenzaal, using a dog cart for transportation. Over successive generations, this small local business developed into a company involved in the production, distillation and distribution of a wide range of drinks.

After the Second World War, Hendrik’s sons Henk and Jan took over the business and gradually expanded its distribution activities. The third generation followed in 1986, while the fourth generation joined the family company in 2014. De Monnik evolved from a local drinks merchant into a nationwide wholesaler, importer and brand builder for wines and spirits.

Although De Monnik should no longer be regarded as a traditional genever distillery, Dutch spirits remain part of its portfolio. Alongside genever, these include herbal bitters, vieux and liqueurs. In 2018, during its centenary year, the family business was awarded the honorary title Royal.
