The Epicurean White Port Finish – Douglas Laing Remarkable Regional Malts
The Epicurean White Port Finish is a cheerful and unexpected Lowland Blended Malt that blends the light-footed elegance of The Epicurean with a fruity twist from northern Portugal. After its initial maturation, it was finished in white port casks, adding juicy layers of white fruit, floral notes and subtle spice. The result is a refined, summery dram with a playful wink – perfect for a sunny afternoon or a characterful aperitif.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Aromas of peach, white grapes, blossom and lemon zest. Behind that: vanilla, fresh grains and a hint of mint.
Palate
Lively and fruity with flavours of green apple, pear drops, melon and honey. The white port influence adds a juicy, rounded texture with touches of white pepper and gentle spice.
Finish
Refreshing and elegant with gentle sweetness, citrusy brightness and a light floral finish with a spicy edge.
