Big Peat The Thropaigeach Feis Ile Edition 2024
It's time again! The annual Big Peat Fèis Ìle limited edition is available from now on. This year, our peated friend has been transformed into a true tropical pirate. With a finish on specially selected Caribbean rum casks, this Big Peat bottling has logically been nicknamed 'Thropaigeach Edition' (Gaelic for 'tropical').
This Big Peat The Thropaigeach has a special look in a black bottle with distinctive pirate-like elements. A real must-have for anyone who loves Big Peat and its whiskies. With every sip, something pirate-like comes out in you every time. The Sea Shanties start playing through your head and before you know it, you're talking like a true pirate: "Arrr", "Ahoy", "Blimey"!
Fèis Ìle - The Islay Festival
Fèis Ìle is an annual festival that brings whisky fans from around the world together to the island of Islay to celebrate both the whisky produced on the island and its culture. The increasingly popular festival offers opportunities to visit various distilleries, attend numerous tastings and witness unique releases live. All this, of course, while enjoying delicious food, festive music and an unknowably convivial atmosphere.
With a unique finish in Caribbean rum casks, Big Peat fans can expect a whisky dominated by a typically hearty smokiness with syrupy flavours of flambéed banana and grilled meat. Bottled at an alcohol content of 48%, obviously with natural colour retention and no cold filtration involved.
Tasting note
Nose
Smoky aromas of twisted barley, warm spices and toasted marshmallows.
Taste
Oily and thick, a typical Islay character, with flambéed banana, grilled meat and honey malt.
Finish
Long and persistent with charred pineapple and slightly spicy and sweet allspice.
