GlenDronach 19 years 1994 - 2013 Single Cask #67 UK Exclusive
The founding of The GlenDronach distillery took place in 1826 in the town of Forgue near Huntly in the Highlands, Scotland. With almost 200 years of experience, The GlenDronach distillery is one of the oldest in the Highlands and a truly traditional distillery that still mainly uses maturation in sherry casks.
True to their tradition, The GlenDronach primarily uses carefully selected sherry casks handcrafted at renowned sherry bodegas from southern Spain (Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlúcar de Barrameda)
Origin and bottling
Each year, our Master Distiler, Billy Walker, specially selects a handful of individual casks from GlenDronach Distillery's warehouses to be bottled as GlenDronach 'Limited Release'.
With maturing whiskies dating back to 1968, there is a huge selection of casks, hogsheads, puncheons and butts to choose from. Each of these casks displays truly remarkable characteristics, the malt whisky contained within having developed exceptionally during the long maturation process.
Distilled on 28 January of the year 1994 and finally bottled especially for the UK in November 2013 after a 19-year maturation. Billy Walker personally selected cask 67 and 625 bottles were eventually bottled.
Cask type
This Single Cask Whisky has spent 19 years on an Oloroso Sherry Butt. This cask has allowed this GlenDronach to gain unparalleled depth and enormous complexity.
