Loch Lomond Chardonnay Wine Casks
As in previous years, Loch Lomond is the official "Spirit Of The Open. This prestigious golf tournament takes place on the historic 'Royal Troon' golf course. This year marks the 152nd running of the tournament.
Loch Lomond created this whisky in collaboration with world-renowned golfer, Colin Montgomerie. The whisky is a display of boldness and risk-taking, something that cannot be lacking in the world of golf. Thus, the whisky has undergone a finish on hand-selected French Chardonnay wine barrels. These exceptional Chardonnay wine casks complement the distinctive style of Loch Lomond single malt whiskies with subtle notes of honey blossom and vibrant orchard fruit.
This limited edition Loch Lomond The Open single malt whisky was created naturally, with no cold filtration or added colorings. Like golf, this whisky is one with nature.

Extra information
Loch Lomond distillery is located in the town of Alexandria on the border of the Lowlands and Highlands. For decades, the area, along with Speyside, was the epicenter for the Single Malt whisky industry. However, several distilleries have closed over the years which makes the "Loch Lomond Distillery" unique of its kind. The distillery with the eponymous name of Scotland's mythical and largest lake is characterized by the variety of whisky it distills. It is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that commercializes both aged single malt whisky, non-aged single malt whisky, blended whisky and 100% single (peated) grain whisky. Also, the whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery is the favorite whisky of Captain Haddock from the Tintin comic strip.
