Clynelish Distillery
Located in the Scottish Highlands, near the coastal town of Brora in Sutherland, Clynelish Distillery is in an area known for its rich whisky tradition. In 1968, a new distillery was built next to the original one. This became Clynelish Distillery and the 1819 distillery was subsequently renamed Brora.
Clynelish whisky is known for its distinctive flavour profile, characterised by a unique waxy texture, floral aromas and subtle hints of sea salt and fruit. The distillery uses water from the Clynemilton Burn, which contributes to the whisky's distinctive flavour. The use of traditional copper pot stills and a careful distillation process ensures the high quality of the spirit.
Clynelish whisky is mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which provides a nice balance between sweetness and spiciness. The combination of historical traditions, unique location and exceptional flavour profiles makes Clynelish a respected name among single malt whisky lovers. The distillery remains a major player in the whisky world, valued for its consistency and craftsmanship.
