Tomatin 12 years 

The Tomatin 12-year-old is classically smooth, having been matured in traditional Scotch Whisky, ex-Bourbon and ex-Spanish Sherry casks. Aromas of wild heather, pine and cedar soon sweeten to reveal notes of crème caramel with apples, pears and mango before a full-bodied and buttery finish, the 12-year-old is a distinguished sherry cask whisky with a little something different.

Tasting note

Nose

The nose opens with an inviting aroma of ripe apple, pear and honey, combined with hints of toasted almonds, vanilla and a touch of citrus. Underneath, you will discover a subtle spiciness of cinnamon and a delicate floral note.

Taste

At the first sip, you immediately taste the distinctive balance of this whisky. Juicy notes of apple and apricot are nicely complemented by creamy vanilla and butterscotch. The influence of the sherry casks brings a slight sweetness of sultanas and figs, while the ex-bourbon casks provide a soft touch of oak and a hint of coconut. A slight spiciness of nutmeg and a hint of dark chocolate complete the flavour palate.

Finish

The finish is soft and long-lasting, with a lingering sweetness and a hint of citrus adding freshness.
