Lagg Distillery

Lagg Distillery is located on the southern tip of the Isle of Arran, on the west coast of Scotland. Opened in 2019, Lagg Distillery is a modern addition to the island's rich whisky tradition. It is the second distillery of Isle of Arran Distillers, which also operates the well-known Arran Distillery in Lochranza.

A specific feature of Lagg Distillery is its focus on heavily peated whiskies, offering a contrast to the lighter style of the original Arran whiskies. The distillery uses locally sourced peat and traditional copper pot stills to create a deep, smoky flavour.

Lagg whisky is matured in a mix of American oak bourbon casks and European sherry casks, creating a rich and complex flavour. Lagg whiskies are known for their robust character, with pronounced notes of smoke, earthy influences and subtle hints of fruit and spices.
