Glenlossie 13 Years 2011 – 2025 Adelphi Selection Cask #35429
Glenlossie is one of Speyside’s hidden gems, rarely seen as a single malt but shining in this refined bottling by Adelphi. Aged for 13 years in a refill bourbon barrel, this expression is clean, fruity, and wonderfully floral. With only 177 bottles drawn from cask number 35429, it’s a rare find for whisky explorers.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Fresh and bright, with notes of apple blossom, white peach, lemon zest, and vanilla. A touch of honey and soft spice in the background.
Palate
Gentle and crisp with flavours of pear, green apple, and a hint of citrus. Creamy vanilla and light oak are balanced by a whisper of ginger.
Finish
Medium in length with a fresh, lightly spicy lift. Grassy dryness and a soft sweetness linger delicately on the palate.
Glenlossie Distillery
Glenlossie Distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, near the town of Elgin in Moray. Founded in 1876 by John Duff, Glenlossie has a rich history of producing high-quality single malt whiskies. Picturesquely situated in a valley surrounded by green hills, the distillery uses pure spring water from nearby Millbuies Springs, which contributes to the purity of their whiskies.
A unique feature of Glenlossie is the use of so-called "purifiers" on the stills, a technique that helps create a lighter and purer spirit. Glenlossie whiskies are known for their delicate and refined flavour profiles, with notes of grass, green apple, pear and a subtle hint of spice. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a smooth and balanced flavour.
Although Glenlossie primarily produces blended whiskies, such as the well-known Haig blends, their single malts are also highly prized for their finesse and complexity. The combination of an idyllic location, unique production processes and high-quality whiskies makes Glenlossie a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
