Tasting Notes
Nose
Rich aromas of ripe peach, dried apricots, and honey, with subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak. A touch of spicy cinnamon and nutmeg adds extra complexity.
Palate
Full-bodied and silky smooth with notes of caramel, toasted almonds, and creamy toffee. The whisky reveals layers of spiced orange zest, milk chocolate, and a subtle hint of spices like anise and pepper.
Finish
Long and warming with lingering notes of sweet vanilla, dried fruits, and a light touch of toasted oak. The finish remains elegant and perfectly balanced between sweetness and spice.
Knockando Distillery
Knockando Distillery is located in the heart of the Speyside region, on the banks of the River Spey in the village of Knockando, Moray. Founded in 1898 by John Thomson, the distillery has a rich history and is known for producing elegant and refined single malt whiskies. The name "Knockando" comes from the Gaelic "Cnoc an Dhu," meaning "little black hill".
A unique feature of Knockando is the use of water from the Cardnach springs, which contribute to the purity and delicate character of their whiskies. Knockando whiskies are known for their light, fruity and floral flavour profiles, with notes of almond, apple, pear and a hint of vanilla. The whiskies are mainly matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, ensuring a balanced and complex flavour.
The combination of a beautiful location, traditional methods and high-quality production makes Knockando a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
